Your vision is up there in your head, floating in ideas and possibilities. But for others to benefit from your brilliance, that dream needs to come down to Earth. My brand-building process helps you pull that vision out of the clouds and land it firmly on the ground, in the form of a complete, actionable Brand Guide.
My process

We start by looking up – at the big-picture ideas that are fueling your dream. Through in-depth discussions, I’ll get to know the raw materials you've gathered: your goals, values, and skills that will provide the structure of your offering. In discovery, I'm teasing out the best of you, and testing how it lands.

Over a few meetings, we build and test – refining who you are, what you offer, and for whom it matters. This is where your brand stops drifting plots its course. We'll hit some turbulence as it comes out of the clouds... I've learned to love the butterflies in those those bumps.

It won't be long before we start seeing your ideas in words, in your draft Brand Guide. Here in the manifest, we get to try it on, and recognize what is still missing. No longer an abstract concept, your dream has become something real that other people can experience.

Within about 6 weeks, you'll have your complete Brand Guide in your hands, which is made to serve every creative step – from working with designers and engineers, to contractors and employees who will help build and run your ship as you steer it into port.

Your brand may have landed, but you get my caring support and attention for three months. During this time, you may want someone to hear, help, or handle the issues you face. You're going to appreciate having solid brand guidance during this tender and exciting time!
don’t expect a straight line
The four steps above aren’t as linear as they are cyclical. As we discover, align, and create your brand vision, we will discover more, and align again. With the brand in your hands, you’ll be testing the landing over and over again, even after we are complete. Brand communication is a practice, not a destination. But if you’re looking for a timeline, the process, from discovery to landing takes, on average, about 6 weeks. The duration of ongoing support is a fixed 3 months from when we start.
You can expect the unexpected, as parts of your heart and mind are loosened and kneaded into the delicious candy of your dream kitchen. Every dream comes out of that kitchen differently – If this process isn’t what they call “manifestation”, I don’t know what is. And manifestation is deeply tied to the person manifesting. But I like to make the whole process, even the challenging bits, quite fun and creative.
cooking takes time
You may be impatient. You may want a logo and website by the weekend. But that’s not what this is about. The process of building a strong brand offering takes a few rounds, including stepping away and sleeping on it at times. Trust the process, and trust that we’ll get there.
You may think it’s all up to me. But these are your cookies. My job is to make sure they find their way to, and then melt in the hungriest mouths possible. But what makes them delicious is the patience, trial, and discernment with the recipe. If I did all the cooking, it would be missing you, and we’d miss you at the party.
we’re planning a party
What’s coming out is a big dream – something that wasn’t even real before. It’s so amazing. It’s like planning for a party – all the imagining, and ideating, and amassing of pieces in anticipation for a great event. And then the event happens – a little differently than you imagined… Some surprises, some people you didn’t think would be there, and moments you never could have engineered.
